Four Methods of GPS Tracker Positioning

There are four main positioning methods: GPS, LBS, BDS and AGPS.

1. GPS satellite positioning : Based on satellite positioning, there are GPS modules and antennas on the equipment. By using cellular data service as GPRS, the tracking coordinates are immediately transmitted to a secured server of tracking platform. The server calculate the latitude and longitude coordinates to determine the location address. GPS positioning accuracy is related to the chip itself and the actual use environment. Generally, the GPS positioning accuracy is about 5m.

2. LBS positioning: Location Based Services (LBS) uses various types of positioning technology to obtain the current location of the positioning device, and provides information resources and basic services to the positioning device through the mobile Internet. LBS uses the mobile internet service platform to update and interact with data, so that users can obtain corresponding services through spatial positioning.

3. BDS positioning: The BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) is a global satellite navigation system developed by China. It is the third mature satellite navigation system after the United States Global Positioning System (GPS) and the Russian GLONASS satellite navigation system (GLONASS).

4. AGPS positioning: Assisted Global Positioning System (AGPS) is based on GPS, so the first step for positioning is to search available GPS satellites in the current area. AGPS can directly download available satellite information of the current area through network, thereby increasing the speed of searching for satellites. At the same time, it also reduces the power consumption of the device.
